Kara’s Journey
From Childhood Experience to Legal Calling
Kara’s path to family law started when she was just a child—experiencing the emotional weight of divorce firsthand. That moment lit a fire in her to make things better for other families. With a background in psychology and sociology, and over 12 years of legal practice—including nearly a decade at one of the nation’s largest domestic law firms—Kara combines sharp legal insight with deep personal understanding. She’s represented hundreds of clients, mentored attorneys nationwide, and always leads with purpose.

Family Law Isn’t One-Size-Fits-All
Kara knows that great representation starts with listening. Every family is different, and every case deserves a custom approach. Whether she’s advocating for shared parenting time or navigating the financial complexities of separation, Kara brings a balance of compassion and strategy that empowers her clients and keeps them grounded through the process.
“My job isn’t just to fight. It’s to educate, empower, and walk beside you through the process.”
A Practice for Everyone
At The Goodman Law Firm, inclusivity isn’t a tagline—it’s a core value. Kara proudly serves clients of all genders, identities, and backgrounds. While her early career focused on advocating for fathers and husbands, today her mission is broader: to deliver compassionate, effective legal support to anyone facing the challenges of family law.
